Veronica Forster first saw Ray Moon perform in a body-building competition two years ago. He was 78.
Everybody in the audience went wild, cheering and applauding him.
He stole the show.
The compere said: "Ladies and gentlemen that's not a muscle you can see but a pacemaker!"
I met Ray at Athletique Health Club in Thornbury last year and we immediately became friends.
Ray is a man of real substance and true grit and, most of all, an inspiration to everyone and the sport of body building.
Ray has defied all the odds. He turns 80 next year and has the energy of a man half his age. And he is always helping people.

VERONICA and I are good friends. We talk on the walking machine at the gym everyday.
Veronica is a giver not a taker, especially in the heart and soul. I joined the local gym when I retired from 64 years in the hospitality industry about six years ago. Six months later, the owner asked me to enter a body-building competition. I've won four tournaments for the over-70s category of the National Amateur Body Building Association, Australian Championships. Body-building has opened a few doors for me. You get a lot of respect, especially from young people.
I've had polio, prostate problems and two strokes, but I recovered because I never give up.
All being well, I'll win the Victorian Championships, in September.
